In this class, you'll learn how to confidently hand-piece scrappy curves using curved acrylic templates. Guided by expert quiltmaker Amiee Reeves, you'll explore techniques for stitching smooth, accurate curves while embracing a playful improvisational approach to fabric selection. The class encourages creative freedom with color choices and teaches strategies for fussy cutting to highlight special prints and motifs within your fabrics.
Students will gain hands-on experience with template handling, fabric preparation, precise seam alignment and techniques for reducing distortion when sewing curves by hand. By the end of the session, you'll have built skills that can be applied to a variety of curved quilt designs and scrappy compositions, along with great confidence in combining fabrics in unexpected and expressive ways.
