Basic Sock Pattern
Our Basic Sock pattern is written for 3 sizes and in 2 yarn weights. Select a Fingering or Dk/Worsted weight yarn for a youth, adult small or adult large. Yardage is approximate. Allow additional yardage for a longer sock or when in doubt.
Sizing
small (medium, large)
Sock size: youth (adult 9 - 11, 10 - 13)”
Shoe size: youth 8 - 13 (women’s 5 - 10, men’s 8 - 12.5)
Fingering
Yarn: 100 grams / 440 yards
Needle: Size 1 & 2 double point needles
Gauge: 8 sts = 1” on larger needle
Dk/Worsted
Yarn: 200 grams / 425 yards
Needle: Size 2 & 3 double point needles
Gauge: 6 sts = 1” on larger needle
