Wonky Log Cabin
designed by Susan Barstein
unlike the traditional log cabin, texture replaces color. the use of multiple stitch patterns creates a wonky version. it won't lay flat and won't end up square. we promise!
finished size: 25" x 30" on the wonky side
gauge: 20 sts per 4 inches in stockinette stitch using smaller needle (gauge is not critical for this project)
yarn: 8 skeins weepaca by Big Bad Wool [50% fine washable merino / 50% baby alpaca; 95 yds / 86 m]
tools: size 7 (4.5 mm) and a size 8 (5 mm) circular or straight needles
Note: Each log is worked over an even stitch count for 15 rows. Always pick up and bind off on right side of work. If you get off course, simply work an extra row. Feel free to alter use and order of each log.
Skills Recommended: picking up stitches, increasing, decreasing, working various stitch patterns
